SENIOR RESEARCH MANAGER
Works to understand what the business issues are and how to translate them into an appropriate research design.
Works with senior members of the team to understand research approach necessary to meet the client needs and works with appropriate resources/vendors (sample, programming, DP, design, analytics) to implement the study.
Helps senior members of team prepare proposals for client research needs.
Manages the project independently, including questionnaire development, sample development, etc. based on information available in the proposal.
Implements and flawlessly executes multiple projects at varying stages at the same time for a variety of clients with little or no supervision.
Demonstrates mastery of project management skills, including sample understanding and design, questionnaire design, tab plan design, banner plan design and tab checking.
Ensures that all internal team members understand the research design and anticipated outcomes, and monitors the progress of the project at each stage to ensure successful completion.
Accepts responsibility for the accuracy, thoroughness, quality and timeliness of projects.
Develops/hones purpose beyond the task, client understanding and basic analytic conclusions beyond the numbers.
Diplomatically responds to difficult or unusual operational issues and is able to professionally influence the appropriate internal resources/external vendors to necessary outcome and/or knows when to elevate issues for resolution.
Manages all project tasks on a daily basis to ensure successful and efficient project completion – this includes having an understanding of the amount of time necessary to complete tasks for all internal groups and managing this time accordingly.
Ensures that team is aware of workload and has an understanding of additional capacity to take on other projects. Additionally, communicates with manager regarding status of projects tasks on a regular basis.
Monitors project costs to ensure that the project is delivered at or above expected profit levels, and notifies senior staff when issues arises.
Offers assistance to other client service teams when help is needed.
Analysis and Deliverables
Attends project meetings involving analytics to understand the necessary outcomes and implementation of analytic deliverables into reports.
Provides necessary materials to analytics.
Assists in creation of analytic plan which will drive report design – this includes ensuring all necessary banner points and tables exist in banner/tab plans.
Oversee Research Manager with the design team to create report shells and populate reports with numbers and then checks all reports to ensure data accuracy.
Writes bullet-point analysis in detailed findings section and assists senior staff in writing executive summary and recommendations.
Supports senior staff to ensure completion of the final presentation.
Takes interest in the analysis and understands the purpose of the survey.
3+ years of experience in the field of survey market research.
Excellent writing and analysis skills.
Proficient in MS Office applications.
Bachelor’s degree in fields of psychology, sociology, math, or statistics preferred, but not required.
Supplier/Vendor experience preferred, but not required.

SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT
The Senior Staff Accountant reports to CFO and management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned. Assist with Banking activities such as setting up new accounts, adding new signatures, bank reconciling items, banking fees, positive pay exceptions, etc. Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close. Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements. Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards. Provide assistance to Accounting Manager with external audit and DOI examination. Assist with accounting related DCO and general ledger projects. Assist with special projects assigned by management.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform accounting functions as assigned including, but not limited to book, reconcile and report in-force premium, direct written premium and loss fund balance, retro accrual, cash, cash applied to A/R, bad debt allowance and non-admitted A/R on a monthly basis
Back-up month-end duties assigned to other Senior Accountants
Prepare monthly financial statements, reports and records by collecting, analyzing and summarizing account information.
Responsible for general ledger.
Fixed asset processing and reporting.
§ Maintain bank accounts by requesting disbursements.
Monitor reserve accounts and short-term fund investments.
Review bank statements.
Research and reconcile all discrepancies.
Auditing and verifying documents.
Following internal controls.
Completing data backups.
Financial and profitability analysis on a requested basis.
Assists in preparation of monthly management report and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports. Assist in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
Assist with completion of the quarterly and annual regulatory filings; preparation of assigned Quarterly and Annual Statutory Statement pages/schedules.
Assist with annual external audit. Complete requested materials. Assist in preparing assigned schedules for the annual and interim reporting to investors and financiers.
Assist with testing and receive final approval for system reports required for management, financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations.
Coordinate and resolve various issues with bank such as cleared check differences, bank fee anomalies, targeted balance calculations and enhancements to online services.
Monitor positive pay exceptions.
Conform with and abide by all internal policies & procedures.
Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
Maintain project log for Senior Accountant position.
Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
Strong analytical and accounting skills.
Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and FRx or similar programs.
Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting. Quickbooks knowledge required
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
The individual will be expected to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of his / her work product. The individual will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company.
Must have an Accounting degree and at least 4 years experience.
MBA or CPA certification is a plus.

Adherence to policies, procedures and instructions of Manager of Financial Reporting.
